these are bolted in so it wont be a forever thing. another positive is that if i need, i can just buy another A-pillar. im leaning towards this as the the method im using would be removable and i can mount anything else in its spot. would require to drill and cut into the A pillar and or frame.
i do get a little strong handed at times. cause of pulling and yanking on the a/p is what may concern me. one is experimental and the other is very safe but to me after a while it may wobble over a long period of time. There are two methods to within my arsenals of mounting. they are there for a reason and blocking it with stuff isnt one of them. Been thinking about getting one myself.vents. We need some guys with 3D printers to make some. I'm interested to see what you come up with.
Not a great long term or permanent solution with the cable, but it works. I put the AP there when I want to log/monitor. I have that popular phone mount that goes between the two middle air vents. Yeah, me neither, I need my AC where I live! Dream scenario, Ecutek will have flex fuel or end user tuning option at some point. I will have both tuning options so I'll probably just hold tight until Ecutek releases their Racerom and see what kind of cool stuff they come up with (or not) and go from there. Next step would be higher E content tune or hybrid turbo. Even with a custom tune, I want something on the conservative side. Might look into custom tune with Cobb, but my hope is the staged tune will be enough.
I have a separate thread with my Ecutek results and full mod list etc. I got a solid round of dragy runs on Ecutek, I'll try to get the same on the Cobb stuff, might as well. From what I've seen looking at guys' datalogs on the EQT staged maps.target boost/timing seems very similar to what I"m running, so I don't think there will be a huge delta between the two. The Cobb is coming with the base/staged/OTS tunes from EQT for "stage 2" 91 octane and E30 tunes. I believe on similar basic 'stage 2' setup both would end up at damn near the same end result anyways. that would be interesting to see what those parts does for power.ĭid you change any parts out since those other flashes?ĭid you change any parts out since those other flashes?I don't think it will end up being a legit apples to apples comparison, but pretty close and maybe talk about some of the subjective things as well. if you have the table maps from the tuner afterwards i would be interested there as well. I would be interested to know what parts you got on and the protune numbers.
In your comparisons, the main difference is with this is you can get a real "tune" from a tuner on a dyno. the other good side effect is you will get a smoother drive than before as pro-tunes are tailored to your specific car and its added parts. unless you have been running lean or you can have your tuner tune your car to run lean as well just to make higher numbers, if your a guy who just wants just higher numbers.
you should see solid numbers for the mods you have. they "wont nickle and dime you" as they say in their advertisements. Youll notice that any stage maps cobb has for your car, it will be offered for free.
Who wants a comparison? Lolwill you be doing a pro tune with cobb?
I have now run Eurodyne, Ecutek and soon Cobb. Welp, I just picked up a used AP for a great deal.
